This automatic self-winding classic WW2 patternB Aeschbach* military watch with a small subsidiary dial second hand is based on the typical designs used by the German Luftwaffe and issued by theB Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM / German Air Ministry)B these watches did not remain in the possession of the Luftwaffe pilots and were issued to them on a mission by mission basis, to be returned to the quartermaster on arrival back at base.B This watch is closely based on one of Aeschbach’s WW2 designs, although the original watches are now quite rare and tend to fetch high prices this watchB isB outwardlyB almost indistinguishable from the factories WW2 models andB retains the acrylic crystal used on the original watches,B also the original 15 Jewel hand-winding mechanical movement is upgraded to a 21 Jewel self-winding automatic which can also be manually wound if required. The watch offers the benefit of retaining theB original outward appearance whilst having the advantage of a few discreet updates to improve its suitability for use on a day-to-day basis.B

The original WW2 watches made for the Wehrmacht, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe wereB produced by a large number of Swiss and German manufacturers some of which including Aeschbach originally founded in 1923 continue to exist to this day. Most of the watches were fairly similar and whilst the British have the Dirty Dozen collecting the German equivalentsB canB be quite challenging due to the sheer number ofB suppliers at the time which comprisesB overB 100 different manufacturers!

This particular watch has a heavy stainless steel satin finish case made from Military Grade 316L stainless steel, subsidiary dialB second hand, hacking function, black dial and luminous markings.B
